What affects performance?
Alarm performance depends on suitable detectors, placement, settings and regular checks. App alerts rely on working equipment and communications; they are not professional monitoring or emergency response. See the backup and alert arrangements below.
Before equipment is selected
Consider what happens when an alarm activates.
The system should detect the intended event and notify the right people. Decide how those people will respond.
Wired, wireless or an upgrade?
Building layout, existing cables and wireless signal conditions affect the choice. We check what can be reused and recommend appropriate sensors, sirens and arming modes.
Backup power and communications
Backup batteries provide limited operating time for the equipment they supply. Cellular backup uses a mobile network as an alternative alarm connection. It needs supported hardware, coverage and an active service; ongoing charges are identified separately. It does not restore your internet or power other equipment.
Ongoing checks
Follow the system instructions to check arming, sensors, sirens, notifications and faults. Device and backup batteries need servicing or replacement as required.
Who receives the alerts?
Supported notifications go to you or your nominated contacts, who decide what to do next. An app alert does not mean an operator is watching or that help has been dispatched.
If your existing system uses a separate monitoring provider, confirm testing and response arrangements with that provider before triggering an alarm.
Optional 4G connectivity for your alarm hub
Add a supplied data SIM, activation, connection testing and ongoing SIM support for $25.00 per month including GST. The 100MB monthly allowance is for supported alarm data on a compatible 4G hub. This service does not include professional alarm monitoring or patrol response.
